Ah, the memories! Our very first desktop computer, an LCD beauty, was a gift from my father to me and my elder sister. I was in grade 9, she was in grade 12, and both of us were buzzing with excitement like kids on Christmas morning. It was a complete setup: CPU, UPS, mouse, keyboard, and a monitor that somehow made our small study room feel like a tech paradise.

For my sister, it was serious business. She was studying computers as one of her major subjects, diving into coding, assignments, and later went on to do her Bachelors and Masters in Computer Applications. She made the most reasonable use of our desktop, which honestly, makes sense, she had the brain and the discipline.
And then… there was me. I, on the other hand, turned that glorious machine into a playground. I gamed like there was no tomorrow, Roadrash, NFS, Age of Empires (oh, how close to my heart!), downloaded every quirky app I could find, including Accelizza, an AI chatbot, and spent hours exchanging apps and games with friends. Productive? Not at all. Fun? Absolutely!
Looking back, I realize that computer taught me two things: the magic of technology and the art of procrastination, but also gave us shared memories we still laugh about today.
So, what about your first computer? Did you use it wisely, like my sister, or did you turn it into your personal fun lab, like me? Share your first computer memories in the comments, I can’t wait to read them!
